We are delighted to announce we have exchanged contracts on the former Devizes Community Hospital site on New Park Road. This milestone marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the site, which will be transformed into a vibrant residential community.
The redevelopment plans, approved by Wiltshire Council’s Eastern Area Planning Committee on 30 January 2025, include the construction of 58 new homes and some retained commercial space. The development aims to contribute to the regeneration of the wider area, offering much-needed housing and green open spaces on the banks of the Kennet and Avon Canal.
The project will retain and restore the historic red brick hospital buildings fronting New Park Road, acknowledging their significance to the character of the Devizes Conservation Area. This thoughtful integration of old and new elements will ensure the development respects the site’s rich heritage.
This agreement is the result of a complex and collaborative effort and we’d like to extend our thanks to James Gregory from Alder King, Nicola Booth from NHS Property Services and Gian Floris from Gould & Swayne.
With the exchange now complete, we are eager to commence the redevelopment and contribute positively to the Devizes community. This project not only addresses the pressing need for housing but also revitalizes a historic site, blending heritage with contemporary living.
We look forward to working closely with local stakeholders and residents as we embark on this transformative journey, ensuring the development enhances the fabric of Devizes and stands as a testament to successful collaboration and thoughtful urban planning.
